Bacteriostatic water is sterile water with 0.9% (9 mg/mL) benzyl alcohol added as a bacteriostatic agent, which allows a sealed container to be entered more than once during laboratory work. NuePharma supplies it as a reconstitution solvent for lyophilized research compounds. It is not a drug, is not sterile once the closure has been penetrated beyond its rated number of entries, and is not intended for administration to humans or animals. Refer to the lot documentation and the container label for the fill volume, the preservative assay and the storage conditions that apply to a specific lot.
